There was pandemonium in Ibadan in the early hours of yesterday when some suspected Oodua nation agitators attempted to take over the Oyo State House of Assembly located inside the state secretariat Complex.
It was gathered that the agitators, who were dressed in military uniform, engaged in fierce gun duel with the local Amotekun, Police and Operation Burst personnel before they were overpowered.
According to an eyewitness, the alleged agitators had already hoisted their flag before the arrival of backup security personnel to disperse them. Several suspected agitators were arrested in the process. have been arrested.
As a result of the incident, all roads leading to the Oyo State Secretariat were deserted with palpable panic among residents living around Customs area and Awolowo Junction in Bodija as motorists were seen taking a detour while other passers-by scampered for safety. When contacted, Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso rejected the call put to him.
